All out blues jam.  One layer at a time.  Inspired by a pair of glasses that electronically change your view.  These are not those glasses.

This was a piece that we sold to LG Mobile for a multi-cultural ad campaign. It featured multiple personas, one being an urban rocker named Marco. We received pretty vague creative direction on this piece (they asked for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club meets Nirvana) – so we played a straight up, guitar-driven riff with tons of gain on everything. There ya go LG. Thanks for the beer money.

We forgot to turn the phantom power on the overhead drum mics – so all you get is the close mics on each shell. Looping rhythm guitar track and lead are on the same take, same track and G’s slide guitar adds suspense.

B playing drums to a layered guitar loop assembly by G. We overdubbed the solo work and bouncy rhythm. Recorded in about 3 hours (as usual) one fourth of July weekend.

Lots of different inspirations here. Think Lady Madonna handcuffed to Andy Summers – running full speed into James Bond. or something like that… Several tempos and changes add drama while G adds a cyborg-style guitar solo.

We were working with some of G’s new gear and looping layers of rhythm and lead guitar tracks with B playing drums to the loop. Additional bass and keyboard pad brought a little more atmosphere to the piece.

Just a quick loop that we put together.. G on bass and guitar in one take with one guitar and one amp.. pretty cool.. needs words and some pad tho…

NYC from the south

Recorded this piece the night after Michael Jackson died. Was thinking of the song Billie Jean and busted out this intro drum beat. Great title suggestion from G. It had nothing to do with anything, which is good…
